Meetings are held at the Abernathy Grange, 15745 South Harley Avenue, Oregon City, Oregon, on the second Monday of each month, at 7:30 PM; a social hour begins earlier, at 6:30 PM.
The Columbia River Regional Group (CRRG) is chartered by the Early Ford V-8 Club of America, and is dedicated to the preservation of Ford Motor Company vehicles, and related historical materials, from the era of the Flathead V-8 engines, including all Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln vehicles, even trucks, busses and tractors, from 1932 to 1953. Ownership of these vehicles is NOT required for club membership, however, all regional group members are required to be a member of the parent club, the Early Ford V-8 Club. National dues are: $35.00 single; $38.00 joint membership. CRRG dues are $10.00 per person, per year. The national club was founded in California, in 1963, and incorporated in 1966.
The Columbia Overdrive newsletter is our CRRG monthly publication. The V8 TIMES magazine is sent to members, national wide, and also worldwide.
CRRG Number Ten, was Chartered in 1968, thus 2018 was our 50th year Anniversary and Birthday !!! 1968 first year members are Charter Members. The CRRG had 43 Charter Members, by the end of 1968. There are still six Charter Members, from our first year (1968), that are still involved with the CRRG.
The CRRG has hosted seven VERY successful Western National Meets for members, from across the USA., and world. Our First was at Bowman’s Resort on Mount Hood, in 1971. The Second was at The Inn Of The Seventh Mountain, in the Bend area, in 1979. Our Third Meet, 1987, and our Fourth Meet, 1995, were also at this super great location. Our Fifth Meet, 2004, was in Hood River. Our Sixth Meet, 2012, was in Redmond. Our Seventh Meet, 2017, was in Salem.
A summer event (usually the second Sunday, of each August) that the CRRG participates in every year is the All Ford Picnic, held at historic Champoeg Oregon State Park, south of Portland. The picnic is hosted by the Mid-Willamette Regional Group of the Early Ford V-8 Club. It is a VERY fun event, and there are lots of various years and models, of Ford Motor Company products, to look over.
The CRRG has participated with the Portland Swap Meet, since 1968 -50+ years!! If you have any interest in early Ford Motor Company products, you are certainly VERY welcome to attend our meetings, and hopefully join our great club.
